Finance Administrator/Bookkeeper - Redwood City

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Non-Profit, you will be supporting day to day accounting operations including fundraising and grant support. The hybrid role requires onsite work 3 days per week in Redwood City, CA. This role is contract to hire. Apply today!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the management of the organization's financial functions, including annual budget, payroll, vendor management, accounting transactions (QuickBooks), revenue streams (state, private pay, grants, and fundraising) and expenses.
  • Expected to understand all necessary agreements and contracts for the operation of the program.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly financial reports and delivering an analysis of trends in revenue, expenses, and expense management to the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for the preparation of quarterly financial reports for relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Will work closely with the Executive Director in preparing the annual budget and submitting it to the Board of Directors for input and approval.
  • Will coordinate the annual financial audit, ensuring a timely submission to the appropriate authorities.
  • Expected to stay up-to-date on current grant programs, maintain a grant calendar and work with the Executive Director to ensure timely submission of various grants.
  • May be assigned additional tasks at the discretion of the Executive Director.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be proficient in GAAP accounting standards.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Excel/Spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, Google Drive Platform, etc., is required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills as the role may require interaction with children.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.

  • Must be capable of working independently and effectively with a diverse group of clients, co-workers, management, and vendors.
