Pharmacy Clerk Floater

Overview:

The Pharmacy Clerk Floater will provide general customer service, complete clerical/administrative tasks, and support the dispensing of pharmaceutical medications.

This position will require to float between our two Austin pharmacy locations (2800 S IH 35 Frontage Road & 3100 Red River St.).

About the Role:

  • Interact courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships
  • Answer incoming and make outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurance companies, etc.
  • Handle payment transactions at Point of Service (POS) and reconcile beginning and end-of-day transactions
  • Order medications and process returns
  • Receive and stock medications on drug shelves
  • Process Return-to-Stock (RTS) medications
  • Order and maintain other/miscellaneous pharmacy supplies
  • Type prescription labels and enter prescription information into record system
  • Verify/re-verify insurance benefits
  • File and maintain prescription invoices and other pharmacy records
  • Coordinate prescription deliveries
  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment, including HIPAA trash
  • Embrace and perform in the spirit of the company’s core values and goals
  • Float to our Austin pharmacies as needed
  • Pharmacy hours of operation: Mon
  • Tues: 9AM - 5:30PM, Wed
  • Thurs: 9AM
  • 8:30PM, Fri: 9AM

-5:30PM & Sat: 9AM-1PM

About You:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have some related work experience (retail/customer service/cashiering, etc.,) preferably in a pharmacy environment
  • Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
  • Strong and effective customer service skills
  • Knowledge of MS Suite including Word, spreadsheet software; inventory software; internet software; order processing systems
  • Strong typing and data entry skills
  • Able to lift and carry light to medium-weight packages
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy, fast-paced work environment
  • Be pro-active in identifying and analyzing problems and provide solutions
  • Reliable and responsible, with a history of good attendance
  • Willing and able to fill-in at other nearby Avita pharmacies occasionally if/when needed
  • Must have a positive attitude, be energetic and flexible, have excellent phone etiquette, and provide exceptional customer service
  • Must be able to travel to our Austin pharmacies as needed (2800 S IH 35 Frontage Road & 3100 Red River St.).

Pay range: $16 to $20 per hour, based on credentials and geographic location.
