Lead Systems Administrator

We are recruiting a Lead Systems Administrator to be based onsite daily in Dallas, Texas. This role involves managing Windows client devices, Windows Server infrastructure, and Active Directory. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the firm’s Help Desk, as well as collaborating with vendors to resolve IT equipment and services issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the deployment, management, and maintenance of Windows 10 and 11 client devices, including hardware deployments and software upgrades
  • Administer and maintain on-premises Active Directory and Azure AD, managing user and computer accounts, groups, permissions, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
  • Manage the firm’s Help Desk ticketing and resolution system
  • Utilize Group Policy, PowerShell scripting, and the Quest KACE SMA appliance for Windows system management and automation
  • Create, maintain, and deploy Windows images using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and Windows Deployment Services (WDS)
  • Manage print servers and domain-joined printers, collaborating with third-party vendors for hardware troubleshooting
  • Configure and maintain DHCP and DNS services
  • Assist with vulnerability scanning, assessment, and remediation efforts
  • Oversee data storage, backup systems, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity efforts
  • Create and maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Manage and administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including user accounts, licenses, and services
  • Manage a small group of Windows PCs using Microsoft Intune
  • Maintain a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking (IPv4/IPv6) and assist with subnet changes on network switches
  • MUST HAVE – Multiple years of Law firm experience.
  • MUST HAVE – Working onsite daily (Monday – Friday) in Dallas, TX
  • MUST HAVE - 10 + Years of professional experience as a Systems Administrator
  • MUST HAVE – 3 + Years of Lead, Hands-on-Manager or One-Person Team experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and its various services.
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory, including user management and authentication.
  • Understanding and implementation of Group Policy, including creation, testing, and deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability in PowerShell Scripting for automation tasks and system management.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Voice Over Internet (VoIP) technology and its administration.
  • Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365 Enterprise, including user licenses, mailboxes, and security.
