Senior IT Business Analyst - SBA24-16317

Summary:

The Senior IT Business Analyst will focus on enhancing the quality of IT projects, products, and services by analyzing data, defining business needs, and informing strategic business decisions. This role involves conducting interviews to assess the current technology request and purchasing processes and developing business cases to manage IT technical and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, document, and translate business goals into functional and technical requirements.
• Document and create diagrams for current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") processes based on a thorough understanding of changes.
• Facilitate the evaluation of proposed solutions to meet functional and business requirements.
• Collaborate with the project team to draft business cases, charters, and other project documentation, including cost/resource estimates and testing strategies.
• Assist project managers by using requirements to design or review test cases, process change requests, and oversee project scope, acceptance, installation, and deployment.
• Support the team in assessing the impact on stakeholders and end users.
• Conduct data gathering and analytics tasks to support project needs.
• Develop data visualizations, including graphs, presentations, reports, dashboards, and other decision support tools.
• Develop documentation, metrics, and reports to identify improvement areas and measure initiative performance.
• Analyze actual work processes against established policies, procedures, and protocols.

• Flexibility to iterate and improve project deliverables over multiple drafts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of technology experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on or consulting experience.
• Preferred experience working in an academic environment, particularly within a university or educational institution.
