The DC Power Field Supervisor reports to the Department Manager and is responsible for overseeing, training, and motivating field technicians to ensure the successful execution of DC Power projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in DC power systems, including power plant battery replacements, VRLA battery replacements, working with wet cell batteries, and performing DC power grounding. Safety is a priority, and the supervisor must ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures on job sites.

Job Description:

  • Lead and motivate the field team, providing constructive feedback and taking corrective actions when necessary, including termination if required.
  • Conduct performance reviews for both employees and job sites, suggesting skill development and pay adjustments where applicable.
  • Oversee all aspects of job site management, including quality, costs, schedules, staffing, customer satisfaction, and safety.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all customer-required documentation and internal job-related paperwork.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, proactively communicating job status and responding to calls and emails in a timely, professional manner.
  • Perform on-site job audits and provide training as needed, with a focus on safety practices.
  • Maintain profitability on projects, track results, and provide detailed reports as required.
  • Promote Alamon's services to grow the business and build strong customer relationships.
  • Visit job sites for walkthroughs, prepare bids, and offer suggestions for improvements where directed.
  • Submit weekly status reports to headquarters and maintain regular contact with the assigned manager.

Technical Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of DC Power (-48VDC) systems, including installation and performing hot cuts as needed.
  • Familiarity with Central Office / MSO / Data Center standards and compliance with Telcordia GR-1275, Lumen 77350 / 77385, ATT TP-76300 / TP-76400, and VerizonIP72202 ISS 5-1 Core Standards.
  • Experience with equipment installations, including Adtran, Cisco, Ciena (Ethernet and/or DWDM), Infinera, Fujitsu, Calix, Nokia, Galaxy 4848, Galaxy Millennium Controllers, Vertiv Power Systems, Eltek Power Systems, and Wet/VRLA battery replacements.
  • Extensive experience in central office wire lacing/stitching/sewing.
  • ROADM installation experience is preferred but not required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and MVR check.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and auto insurance required.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience in team supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adherence to all corporate policies and procedures, with the ability to work
  • independently within the company's framework.
  • Demonstrate professionalism that reflects positively on the Alamon organization, and the communities served.
  • Ability to accept full responsibility for the safe operation and maintenance of company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications: Email, Excel, Word, OneDrive.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work in different temperatures and through changing weather conditions.
  • Must be able to traverse all areas of a jobsite. This may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, lifting or stretching.
  • Ability to clearly distinguish colors, shades, and brightness when working with multi-colored cablings such as twisted pair copper and fiber optic cable.

Work Environment:

  • The DC Power Field Supervisor position may require visiting Alamon customer site facilities nationwide, travel may be required.
  • Must be able to work in enterprise, educational, warehouse, and manufacturing settings.
  • Indoor and outdoor work will be based on the scope of the contract.
  • Exposure to dust, odors, gases, vapors, varying noise levels, and wet or slick surfaces may be possible.
  • When appropriate, wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
  • This position may require working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions and terrain; may work for long periods in hot, cold, wet, windy, or icy conditions.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Lodging is provided for overnight work.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods while traveling to and from job sites.
  • Lodging is provided while working and traveling for the company.
