Responsibilities:

The software engineering team focuses on the development, and support of a customer-centric insurance product suite. As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you’ll be an integral member of a team that builds and customizes in-house and Guidewire software, delivering an efficient and seamless experience.

You will be working on customizing Guidewire Insurance Suite products.

  • Work collaboratively and individually to contribute working code that the team has committed to deliver, according to the project’s contribution guidelines.
  • Develop, test and review Gosu and Java code.
  • Work on configuration and Integrations within Policy Center, Billing Center and Claim Center.
  • Review and offer constructive feedback on others’ code.
  • Be an active collaborator in regular technical planning sessions.
  • Propose technical and process improvements that will help the team deliver better and faster results, and innovations that will delight the customer.
  • Partner with other teams to coordinate, collaborate, and contribute as needed.
  • Draft technical designs to support business requirements. Refine and build consensus with the team to prepare for delivery. Designs may touch any/all layers of the tech stack.
  • Guide the team to design and deliver solutions that uphold technical standards and have a positive impact on the delivery metrics we track.
  • Maintain awareness of the product roadmap and business context.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in enterprise software development
  • 4+ years’ experience in Guidewire software development
  • 4+ Years experience in Guidewire product configuration
  • 5+ years’ experience with OOP languages such as Java
  • 5+ years’ experience developing, designing, and querying SQL databases
  • 5+ years’ experience building scalable micro services, using REST
  • 4+ years’ experience writing test scripts and automated testing with tools such as Katalon
  • Knowledgeable with CICD processes and pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps
  • Knowledgeable with cloud development and principles, using technologies like Azure or AWS
  • Demonstrated ability to align product and business’ concerns with engineering
  • Demonstrated experience and mentoring other developers
  • Demonstrated experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Well versed in Agile or similar methodologies
  • Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
