What you’ll be doing::

The Senior Director of IT Portfolio & Financial Management will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the IT organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this role is responsible for overseeing the management of IT investments, portfolios, and financial performance, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and maximizing value delivery.

The Senior Director will lead a team to develop and implement best practices in IT portfolio management, financial planning, resource allocation, and governance to support both short-term and long-term IT initiatives.

  • Milwaukee, WI
  • Madison, WI
  • Mechanicsburg, PA

On any given day, you’ll::

  • Work with CIO and other IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in the context of the business strategy.
  • Lead the development and execution of IT portfolio management strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, manage project roadmaps, and ensure successful delivery of IT projects.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive view of the IT project portfolio, including risk management, project health, and resource capacity planning.
  • Implement frameworks and tools for effective portfolio governance, tracking project performance against key metrics and business outcomes.
  • Responsible for department level planning, budgeting, financial management, sourcing, vendor management, process development, metrics, risk management, and knowledge management. Develop plans and completion criteria and coordinate efforts of team members, vendors, subcontractors, and CMIC personnel.
  • Enable the organization’s flexibility through effective leadership and direction. Ensure availability of technology resources with the appropriate knowledge and skills.
  • Develop appropriate standards, policies, and procedures and ensure their adoption and enforcement.
  • Maintain contact with senior IT management and communicate problem progress/status, risk management, and business satisfaction updates.
  • Develop improvement strategies to reduce technology and department costs and to raise end-user and business satisfaction. Lead IT department planning to strengthen and improve service delivery plans and processes.
  • Support activities subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, and affect costs or expenses.
  • Manage status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks for IT Financial and Operational metrics in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
  • Lead cost improvement strategies, including parts usage, labor, and other expense elements. Participate in overall IT department planning to strengthen and improve service delivery plans and processes.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT project and portfolio management, financial management, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience working with senior leadership, influencing strategic decision-making, and driving large-scale IT initiatives.
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis within an IT environment.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial and technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in portfolio management tools, financial management software, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Exact compensation will vary based on consideration of a variety of factors including education, skills, experience, and location.

Minimum Compensation: USD $163,400.00/Yr.

Maximum Compensation: USD $245,000.00/Yr.
