Mercy Imaging Centers a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation provides cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services at 16 locations in the greater Sacramento and Woodland areas. Our team of 160 staff members work with our specialty trained and board certified radiologists to provide high quality care to our patients.

The locations perform more than 175000 exams annually with the goal of providing top quality imaging compassionate care and timely service with a smile.

Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

Key responsibilities of the position are to: The scheduler provides scheduling and phone support for the various Medical Imaging modalities including but not limited to Radiology Ultrasound CT Scanner MORI Nuclear Medicine and Mammography. Responsibilities include scheduling examinations in accordance with scheduling protocols established by the modalities and the department.
This position may be required to assume the duties and responsibilities of the receptionist position and to work at any of the available positions in the clinic as receptionist scheduler or file clerk. This position has significant interaction with physicians offices nursing units and radiology staff and requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Performs business general office and scheduling duties for designated departments which involves: Operate a dedicated scheduling station taking care to be sure that the required personnel and resources are available. As the initial point of contact for physicians patients offices and staff this position must demonstrate excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
Develop and maintain scheduling protocols and patient preparation procedures for each modality. Verify and update patient and guarantor information. Answer telephones promptly in a friendly courteous and professional manner. Maintain patient confidentiality. Use computers. Record messages and distribute them accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain clean and neat work area. May be required to perform data collection for projects May be required to perform billing audits and respond to requests for scheduling and billing information.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of: Correct English usage including spelling grammar and punctuation; proper telephone etiquette; care and usage of office equipment and computer terminals and printers; principles of medical record systems and confidentiality; basic medical terminology and human anatomy as it pertains to medical imaging
  • This position requires a minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute accurately; use computers; communicate well with others; read write and understand English; schedule procedures accurately; establish priority for multiple activities maintaining steady work flow and positive customer satisfaction; maintain a clean and neat work area; understand use of office equipment and maintain it in operating condition
  • Must have excellent communication and inter personal skills
