Overview:

The Cook Family Health Center provides primary healthcare services for Bloomington-area Cook Group company employees and their families.

The Medical Assistant provides high-quality patient care by supporting providers and patients through various tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Intake & Assisting Provider
  • Setting up equipment and assisting during exams and procedures
  • Collecting lab specimens
  • Phlebotomy
  • Patient Education & Communication
  • Administer medication/Injections
  • Schedule outside appointments
  • Order stock
  • Manage disposal of biohazards
  • Electrocardiogram
  • Sterile technique
  • Clean and stock exam rooms/lab
  • Electronic Health Records data entry
  • Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels
  • Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
  • Must strictly adhere to and enforce Cook Clinic Employee Manual, Cook Code of Conduct, HIPAA & OSHA regulations

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years technician experience in medical office environment
  • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience required
  • Previous multi-line phone & customer service experience required
  • Current CMA or LPN preferred

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Ability to walk & stand for long periods of time
  • Able to bend, stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
  • Able to lift 20+ pounds occasionally
