Overview:
The Cook Family Health Center provides primary healthcare services for Bloomington-area Cook Group company employees and their families.
The Medical Assistant provides high-quality patient care by supporting providers and patients through various tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Intake & Assisting Provider
- Setting up equipment and assisting during exams and procedures
- Collecting lab specimens
- Phlebotomy
- Patient Education & Communication
- Administer medication/Injections
- Schedule outside appointments
- Order stock
- Manage disposal of biohazards
- Electrocardiogram
- Sterile technique
- Clean and stock exam rooms/lab
- Electronic Health Records data entry
- Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels
- Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
- Must strictly adhere to and enforce Cook Clinic Employee Manual, Cook Code of Conduct, HIPAA & OSHA regulations
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years technician experience in medical office environment
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience required
- Previous multi-line phone & customer service experience required
- Current CMA or LPN preferred
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Ability to walk & stand for long periods of time
- Able to bend, stoop, kneel or crouch
- Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
- Able to lift 20+ pounds occasionally
