Event Designer - Part-time - 3 months

We have a valued team member going out on Maternity leave and we’re looking for a part-time backfill for approximately 3 months (January - March).
Focus: Producing scaled and compelling visualizations that help story-tell the event experience in 2D and 3D perspectives. Assist in creative brainstorming to help design gathering experiences that advance our clients brands or event objectives.
THE DESIGN OF CREATIVE ROLE- 50% Conceptual and schematic design & Visualization work
- 25% environment and immersive event design,
- 25% Creating “storytelling” through building pitches and decks to present ember’s work
- Assist in design of gatherings for attendee-centric meeting and event experiences
- Advanced understanding of AutoCAD or similar technical drafting software to develop scaled 2D and 3D renders & layouts of room environments, general session scenic, and other event detail
- Carry designs from conceptual development to schematic design and into final production through developing corresponding visualizations
- Craft compelling renderings and storytelling for client presentations
- Develop, style and design event environments specific to social events, lounges and engaging meeting elements
- Consults with Gathering and project team members to fulfill creative and match gathering objectives
- Supports Gathering Producers with presentation materials needed to communicate event detail and tackles multiple rounds of revisions leading up to onsite execution
- Collaborate with other creative team members to develop a cohesive overall event aesthetic
Requirements
ARCHITECTURE OF AN EVENT DESIGNER- Expertise in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Revit - or comparable software tools that allow you to visually express ideas
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
- Degree in Industrial Design, Drafting & Design, or Interior Design preferred
- Theatrical background helpful - show set design, scenic, lighting design
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems independently
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and operate within a start-up organization and the dynamic of all levels of Ember personnel and customers
- Attention to detail, flexibility to react to change in direction, and ability to meet quick turnaround deadlines
- 1-2 years of applicable experience in meetings/events (requires understanding of event seating, AV/production elements)
We are a remote company - proficiency in working remote is a requirement
Benefits- This is a part-time position from January to March (1 week of onboarding in December)
- $27.50 per hour
- M-F / 30 hours a week
