Job Summary/Basic Functions
Project Coordinator is a grant funded position serving at Eastern Kentucky University's extended campuses. The office is located on the EKU Corbin Campus. The position works under The Center for Student Parents and provides student participant supervision, monitoring, recruitment, and other support services to assist Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP) recipients obtain their college degree while fulfilling their federal work requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree accepted with required experience. Degree required in social work, education, child and family studies, sociology, psychology, counseling, or related field.
Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Three years of experience working with at risk populations is required.Licensure & Certifications: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

A successful candidate should be knowledgeable of community resources, state benefit programs, higher education, program development, recruitment and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Job Duties:
- 40% - Conducts advising and case management for program participants.
- Meets with students regularly to assist and advise student participants in meeting personal, academic, and programmatic goals.
- Monitors and supplies tutoring and mentoring for students in the tri county and online programs.
- Maintains good working knowledge of university policies and procedures, academic departments and advising procedures. - ()
- 30% - Program Recruitment and management
- Assist in the Recruitment and Retention of student parents by working with community-based services and university departments to identify and provide services to students that help enhances the overall goals of the program and retention and graduation efforts of the university.
- Promotes and integrates the program into the regional and online campuses through effective communication and marketing strategies.
- Communicate to potential participants within the service region and maintain a good working relationship.
- Maintains an updated list of service region community resources and supports the development and facilitation of academic, cultural, and career workshops for extended campuses.
- Maintains student participant documentation, generate reports for program director, provide documentation as needed for grant and students' compliance. - ()
- 25% - Coordination, Placement, and Supervision of Job Placements
- Assists students in university employment process.
- Works with campus and community partners to place students in career development opportunities.
- Supervises and evaluates students' employment.
- Promote and expand the job training program through the development of on and off-campus job opportunities for students. - ()
- 5% - Supports the program and university goals by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - ()
