Knowledge Management Specialist Tier II
Overview:
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST | TIER II (MIELS):
Bowhead is seeking Knowledge Management Specialists to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.
Responsibilities:
- Provides subject matter expertise to assist the Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) with the refinement and subsequent implementation of the Command’s knowledge management framework, tools, processes, and policies. This position will routinely operate independently and must be capable of high levels of initiative and performance with little direct oversight.
- Assists the CKO with the planning, development, and implementation of a Knowledge Management Strategy for the organization through purposeful engagement with key functional managers.
- Provides a strategic view and assessment of the Command's knowledge management posture, making recommendations on how to further develop knowledge management systems and practices to support the command in the future.
- Assists with the development of policies and processes to ensure all knowledge management work is performed in an integrated fashion across the Command to ensure a high and continuing level of efficiency that facilitates seamless exchange of information across systems and directorates.
- Recommends and develops plans to streamline knowledge architectures to effectively handle operations, eliminate redundancies, and ensure positive user experience.
- Assists with the assessment of new technologies through requirements definition, pilot program participation, analysis of alternatives.
- Shares knowledge management best practices to include innovative approaches in knowledge management.
- Helps disseminate information about the knowledge management program to internal and external audiences, including organizing knowledge management events, maintaining communication on knowledge management across the Command, supporting new join orientations, and preparing KM marketing materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, management information systems, business administration, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five (5+) years direct knowledge management experience.
- DoD 8570 requirements for IAT I.
- Demonstrated understanding of knowledge management principles and capacity to deliver knowledge management programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical.
- Requirements analysis experience.
- Excellent facilitation skills.
- Preferred: Knowledge management certifications.
- Preferred: ITIL certification
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
