RATE RANGE: $55/hr - $64/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract)
CLEARANCE: Secret, obtainable within reasonable time based on requirements
LOCATION: Scottsdale AZ 85257 (No relocation package)
DURATION: 12+ months/contract to hire

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Geologics is currently seeking a Network Design Engineer in our Scottsdale, AZ location. The experienced Network Design Engineer we seek will design and plan network systems, as well as provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.You'll deliver specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Using your extensive network knowledge, you'll coordinate third party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoot problems with department users and department network administrators.
We'll rely on you to maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges and gateways, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge In adjacent disciplines/fields
Develop and provide innovative and creative solutions to a variety of difficult problems of considerable scope and complexity, using established precedent and policies
Display initiative on assignments, exercise independent judgment and professionally execute projects with little direction
A seasoned, experienced professional having a wide range of professional experience and possessing a very strong understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories and expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways
Capable of working on complex problems of diverse scope or situations or data that requires In-depth evaluation of variable factors
Exercises Judgment In selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts In the field
Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task
Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
Can provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
Capable of performing technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
