Quality Manager

Synerfac is seeking a Quality Manager for our client in Newport News, VA. Our client is a leader in custom precision sheetmetal manufacturing on the East Coast.

The Quality Manager will oversee the quality assurance and control operations at a sheet metal manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet both internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.

• Develop, implement, and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of high-quality products.
• Monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system, producing data and reporting on performance, measuring against set standards.
• Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly.
• Identify relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training.
• Assess product specifications and customer requirements, ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
• Anticipate and address potential quality issues in the production process.
• Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings and creating audit finding reports.
• Manage and maintain the Company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes, and finished goods.
• Set QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved.
• Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
• Assess the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and comparing with customer requirements.
• Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, managing risks associated with product quality and safety.
