Job Description
  • Lead the estimation process for various construction projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids are prepared.
  • Analyze project specifications and requirements to create detailed cost estimates that reflect project scope and objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather relevant information and refine project parameters.
  • Review and approve all estimates before submission, ensuring consistency and adherence to company standards.
  • Develop and implement best practices and procedures for the estimating process to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor industry trends and material costs to provide insights that inform bidding strategies and project feasibility.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors to clarify project details and resolve any discrepancies in estimates.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, outlining estimation methodologies and project budgets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating department to enhance overall performance and responsiveness.

The Successful Applicant

Experience:

  • Construction Background: 10+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on managing diverse projects across various sectors.
  • Team Leadership: Proven experience in managing and mentoring a team of estimators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with estimating software and tools, as well as a solid understanding of construction methodologies and cost analysis.

Skills:

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to interpret project specifications, assess risks, and develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interactions with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
