Position Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic individual that can help take our “Guest Experience” quality to the next level. The ideal candidate must exercise good judgment and public relations skills in dealing with guests and employees.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $18

About the Venue:

The Greensboro Complex is a versatile multi-building facility that serves the community of Greensboro and its surrounding areas. It hosts a wide array of events, such as athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, as well as public and private gatherings, including conventions, convocations, trade shows, and consumer shows.

It plays a crucial role as a hub of community activities and significantly contributes to the regional economy. The Complex is made up of nine venues, the largest being the renowned 22,000-seat First Horizon Coliseum, which has a storied history of hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball championships, and a concert history featuring legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Elvis Presley, as well as today’s biggest artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift.

The Complex also includes the 167,000-square foot Special Events Center, encompassing three exhibition halls, a 4,500-seat mini-arena, and eight meeting rooms. Additionally, there's White Oak Amphitheatre, Piedmont Hall, the Novant Health Fieldhouse, Greensboro Aquatic Center, The Terrace, ACC Hall of Champions, and the 300-seat Odeon Theatre.

As one of the most actively booked facilities in the country, the Greensboro Complex annually hosts over 1,100 events. Its extraordinary flexibility and reputation have earned it worldwide acclaim among promoters, producers, event planners, and patrons alike.

Responsibilities:

  • Encourage and coach guest services staff to establish and maintain a positive work environment and improve the level of service they provide.
  • Ensure guest compliance with all venue policies.
  • Enforce the Greensboro Complex part time policies and procedures regarding employee dress code, attendance, and behavior.
  • Provide leadership, training, and motivation to guest services staff.
  • Set and maintain exceptional services standards and ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Serves as supervisor for small athletic events and special events.
  • Support fellow Guest Services Supervisors to continue improving guest experience.
  • Pre and post event procedures: staff check-in and out, gate preparation, distribution of event supplies, locking doors, signage, lost and found inventory.
  • Effectively communicate escalated employee issues to Guest Services Management.
  • Be knowledgeable about arena and surrounding areas; ensure guests have a fun and safe experience.
  • You must be a team player; committed to both helping staff achieve goals and working efficiently and enthusiastically to solve customer issues.
  • Communicating between departments as necessary to resolve event issues, guest complaints or emergencies (Box Office, Custodial, First Aid).
  • Complete incident or injury reports for guests and staff.
  • Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Must be able to perform in a fast-paced work environment and maintain an outstanding guest-service focus.
  • Help with escorting ADA guests to seating area (including wheelchair transport).
  • Work on your feet for 4+ hour shifts.
  • Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptional Customer Service experience and skills – outgoing and friendly personality required.
  • Candidate should have strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language.
  • Possess superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of team, remaining flexible in role.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
