Explosive Detection Canine Imprinter (Windsor, CT). Manage the administrative tasks associated with the canine class coordination and communicating canine development progress to the instructor team. Teach canines explosive odor recognition capabilities, primary alert, and basic training exercises.
Develop and implement new training programs based on knowledge and study of new and improved techniques. Identify remedial training needs and develop new programs to address needs. Utilize techniques that may be considered cutting-edge on certain canines to identify which methods are successful and those that may need to be refined; introduce certain new approaches to whole program once developed and tested.
Manage/imprint up to 6-8 canines at a time. Establish relationships with canines to assess their strengths and weaknesses, and to observe and recognize different behaviors. Expose canines to different levels of odor recognition training, and eventually determine readiness for the partnership in the field working with EDC Handlers.
Track progress of each canine individually as they progress through different stages of the imprinting process. Identify canines who can progress through imprinting more quickly (fast-track) and look for ways to challenge the canines to achieve progress at an expedited manner.
Remain fluent in new training techniques; challenge existing ideas; be open to ground-breaking approaches as science changes. Assess potential canines from breeders to determine which ones may fit well for MSA clients (healthy, strong drive, good demeanor, social, etc.) Determine which canines should be kept and which canine(s) will be returned to the breeder.

Must have 24 months of experience as a detection canine imprinter or detection canine handler. Occasional travel (15%) to client locations in the U.S. and Canada. $59,779.00/year-$59,779.00/year.Please mail CV to Christine Miller, General Counsel, Michael Stapleton Associates, Ltd, 9 Murray Street, Floor 3, New York, NY 10007
