Job Description:
A multi skilled person dedicated to assisting in designated aspects of the medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures, as well as expediting patient care by documenting all prover/patient interactions in the medical record under the supervision and responsibility of a RN/LPN/APRN or licensed provider.Performs clerical functions required to service the needs of the patients, providers and organization. Serves as a liaison between patients, clinical support staff, physicians, and others. Provides excellent customer service and greets patients entering the department/practice
Responsibilities:
Job Requirement:
Receives, documents and directs messages, (electronic, in person and telephone calls) to the appropriate personnel. Makes contact to other departments, physicians, patients and other outside organizations as necessary for the departmental/practice operations.
Prepares and maintains all clerical aspects of the medical records through established guidelines. Provides excellent customer service for patients/families/representatives and other members of the treatment team.
Performs accurate registration interview with direct data entry to facilitate full registration for all new patient appointments and up to date information on all established patients across multiple provider specialties as assigned
Maintains patient scheduling functions and sets patient appointments through established guidelines.
Keys patient dispositions, diagnostic codes, patient orders, charges and payments as defined in the electronic medical record. Performs cashiering functions as it relates to copayments or other patient payments/collections. May perform routine clerical duties for the department.
Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
Take patient's vital signs. Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms. Performs aseptic procedures. Administer basic first aid, and basic wound care. Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments. Maintains safe patient environment while maintaining patient confidentiality.
May perform additional tasks related to phlebotomy, collection of laboratory specimens and EKG after completion of phlebotomy or EKG certification course and upon validation of competency of the skills.
Will not perform any duties related to medication administration or review.

Experience Requirements:
- year Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician preferred
1 year - One-year experience with third party payors and computer experience for in putting data and reviewing patient demographic material - preferred
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent - required
Certificate/Licensure:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required at time of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required at time of hire
Travel Up to 25%
