HR Compensation Specialist

Responsibilities:
Job Summary / Purpose
The Compensation Specialist assists in the analysis and administration of CommonSpirit Health compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. They assist in evaluation of jobs, market pricing, suggest pay grades, complete compensation surveys, and participate in associated analysis.The Compensation Specialist audits and validates data for accuracy and consistency with compensation practices, programs, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Assists in providing analytic support for compensation program management and implementation, including but not limited to: base pay administration, annual salary increase processes, variable pay program administration and ad-hoc compensation projects.Supports the delivery, education and communication of compensation programs.
Completes salary surveys, participates in analysis of salary survey results, and supports salary structure creation. Reviews requests for new or revised jobs, assists in job evaluations, suggests FLSA status, and provides salary recommendations to ensure internal equity and market alignment.
Prepares regular and ad-hoc reports regarding market compensation data and internal company compensation information. Audits and validates to ensure accuracy of compensation-related data maintained within company information systems and databases.Processes updates and changes in the systems.
Supports continuous improvement of processes and technology which impacts compensation programs and maintains documentation related to processes. Participates in special projects as assigned.
Functional Competency
HR Legal and Regulatory EnvironmentKnowledge of federal, state and local laws and ability to advise on laws and regulations affecting HR practices.
Salary Planning
Knowledge of salary planning tools and methods, job evaluation techniques, and market salary trends; ability to design and implement salary programs.

Knowledge of features, functions and operations of specific human resources (HR) systems or applications; ability to design, implement, and operate specific HR systems in the organization.
Compensation Management
Knowledge of compensation structure and related concept and ability to design, implement and evaluate compensation programs, policies and processes within an organization.
Analytical Thinking
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.
Office Support Tools
Knowledge of commonly used office hardware, software and equipment and ability to use the tools available at the desktop (for example: word processing, e-mail, presentation software, and spreadsheets.)
Managing Multiple Priorities
Knowledge of effective self-management practices and ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Two (2) years of compensation or human resources experience.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and other spreadsheet and HR Technology applications using quantitative analysis, charting, pivot tables and formulas. Basic analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in using word processing and presentation software.
