Job Description
The responsibilities of the Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) Manager areRegulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to food manufacturing.
- Interface with regulatory agencies and third-party auditors as needed.
Safety Programs:
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular safety training for employees and management.
- Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Environmental Management:
- Implement and manage environmental programs to minimize the environmental impact of operations.
- Monitor and report on key environmental performance indicators.
- Develop strategies to reduce waste, energy consumption, and water usage.
Risk Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend measures to control and reduce risks.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all aspects of operations, including new projects and processes.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Conduct drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
Safety Culture:
- Promote a strong safety culture by fostering awareness, communication, and accountability.
- Encourage employee involvement in safety initiatives.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records related to safety incidents, environmental performance, and compliance.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.

The Successful Applicant
A successful EHS Manager candidate must have- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Proven experience in EHS management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and influence others to achieve a positive safety culture.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
