Robert Half Legal is seeking attorneys with prior litigation experience to join an existing long-term remote project with a government agency starting March/April 2025

This is not a document review project but a hands-on administrative procedure project requiring high technical aptitude, ability to work independently and at minimum 1 year of legal dispute experience.

Project information:

  • Start: March/April 2025 (with additional onboarding waves throughout the year)
  • Duration: Anticipated 1 year with the possibility of extension
  • Pay: $41.50 per hour
  • Location: Remote (technology provided)
  • Hours: Full-time 40 hours/week with some overtime (time and a half)
  • Schedule: 8 hours/day between the hours of 7:00 am Est – 7:00 pm est. Training will last approximately 2 weeks and consists of 1-3 mandatory meetings per day, self-study, shadowing, and Q& A sessions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Represent client in non-judicial administrative hearings.
  • Analyzing files to assess what stage of the administrative claims process each case is in.
  • Communicating and supporting the negotiation of possible settlements with counsel or directly with the claimants then preparing documents surrounding the outcome of those communications.
  • Attending virtual hearings and conferences, interviewing witnesses, drafting subpoenas, drafting closing statements, and keeping parties apprised at various stages of the administrative matter.
  • Handle high volume case load.

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing in a US state jurisdiction (client is looking for attorneys for their skillsets and analytical abilities, but the role does not involve the practice of law.)
  • Full time availability during regular business hours (EST will be the prevailing time zone)
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision and to seek out answers to questions utilizing available resources and colleagues.
  • Demonstrable high level of tech-savviness
  • Ability to be flexible, organized, and proficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Complete and clear pre-placement process including fingerprints in a timely manner.
  • A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • The candidate should be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation is necessary.
  • Demonstrable experience handling eDiscovery matters is required.
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc. is needed.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful dispute resolution are required.
  • The ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with strong time management skills is necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as independently is needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • High level of detail orientation and integrity is required.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents is necessary.
  • Familiarity with courtroom procedures and decorum is required.
  • Comfortability with using technology and learning new software applications is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the rules of civil procedure and evidence is required.
  • The ability to maintain client confidentiality at all times is necessary.
