Accounting Assistant

We are offering a contract to permanent employment, part time opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Management industry, located in Greenville, South Carolina. The role involves bookkeeping and inside sales tasks within a team environment.

• Handle heavy data entry related to account management
• Execute customer service tasks, such as responding to inquiries and resolving issues
• Communicate with clients over the phone independently
• Track and manage customer orders efficiently
• Process purchase and sales data
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Sage 50 for various accounting tasks
• Assist with logistics related to trucking operations
• Maintain attention to detail in all tasks to ensure accuracy
• Manage accounts payable tasks as needed
• Support the team by fulfilling additional tasks as required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role or similar
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and processes
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with data entry, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
• Familiarity with the waste, refuse, and environmental waste management industry is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
