The Maintenance Electrician Tech reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. The primary focus will be to lead and guide maintenance technicians on the repair and maintenance of plant equipment as effectively and economically as possible, while being consistent with plant policies, practices, and procedures.

The person in this position will constantly drive to minimize overall maintenance costs. The position necessitates that the candidate troubleshoots, and repair AC/DC motor controls and PLCs as needed. Experience in reading schematic drawings and ladder logic is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Will participate in machine PM's and repairs, spending 75% of their time on the floor.
  • Spends first 15 minutes of shift with previous shift maintenance technician discussing breakdowns and planning of tasks.
  • Plan for upcoming PMs and lead technicians to maintain machines in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
  • Trouble shooting VFD's and PLC's.

Qualifications:

  • Two year vocational/technical school degree in industrial electronics/electricity or equivalent experience
  • It is preferable to have at least four years of experience.
  • Computer literacy skills required
  • Should demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong teamwork relationships.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and on occasion, they must lift and/or move 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to focus, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • The ability to operate relevant mechanical and electrical hand tools, electrical test equipment, and alignment tools is a must. Operation of powered equipment, i.e., forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. Additionally, one must possess familiarity with office equipment such as computers, copiers, and fax machines.
