Legal Secretary

This will include processing and managing various legal documents, responding to inquiries, and maintaining quality control within the firm.

Candidates who have the ability to be adaptable and pivot tasks within their role will be successful. We are minimally looking for someone with experience in clerical, administrative, legal or medical fields.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring accurate record-keeping and document management within the firm.
• Addressing inquiries in a timely and detail-oriented manner.
• Calendaring and scheduling for attorneys.
• Physical filing and e-filing through MD Electronic Courts (MDEC).
• Opening and scanning incoming mail and filings.
• Utilizing corporate secretary skills to manage switchboard and phone lines.
• Assist with billing and timekeeping needs.
• Data entry via Microsoft Excel as needed.
• Supporting attorneys with any and all clerical or administrative tasks.

To be considered in this role, you must have:

• Experience or skills as a Legal Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Secretary or Receptionist.
• Demonstrated success in a prior law firm role, experience in litigation a plus.
• Experience with filing through MDEC.
• Skilled in responding to inquiries in a detail-oriented manner.
• Ability to manage switchboard phones.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
• Team player attitude with ability to manage individual deadlines.
