Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for an Interim Sales Tax Accountant to support our client in the South Bay on a 2–3-month hybrid (or remote) project beginning immediately. The Sales Tax Accountant should have comprehensive knowledge of multi-state sales tax returns and proficiency in using Vertex software.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, execute and submit sales tax returns effectively for multiple states using Vertex software.
• Analyze and evaluate client tax data and make suggestions for maximizing tax benefits.
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of all sales tax returns across various states
• Assist in sales tax audits and help resolve any related queries.
• Be up-to-date with the latest tax legislation and ensure compliance.
• Prepare tax-related financial reports.
• Maintain a sound knowledge of the company's financial status and provide insights to management regarding tax planning.
• Assist in ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA or other relevant certification would be a plus.
• Proven experience as a Sales Tax Accountant, preferably in a multi-state environment.
• Experience working with states that have home rules (Colorado preferred)
• Proficiency in using Vertex software.
• In-depth knowledge of tax laws, sales tax filing procedures, and regulatory rules across multiple states.
