Payroll Specialist

The role requires a high level of accuracy and efficiency in processing payroll data and resolving related inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and issue employee paychecks using accounting software systems.
• Manage and maintain employee payroll records, ensuring data accuracy.
• Handle inquiries related to payroll, addressing them promptly and efficiently.
• Utilize ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now for various payroll functions.
• Apply Ceridian and Dayforce software for processing payroll and benefit functions.
• Administer 401k - RRSP Administration, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Execute various accounting functions related to payroll management.
• Conduct regular auditing of payroll data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Handle payroll functions for unionized employees, understanding the specific requirements of union contracts.
• Stay updated about the latest developments in payroll and accounting software systems.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
• Familiarity with Ceridian and Dayforce systems
• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in Auditing
• Ability to handle Benefit Functions
• Expertise in Payroll - Union
• Ability to work in a non-profit industry environment
• Previous experience as a Payroll Specialist is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Relevant certification or degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred.
• Five Years experience in Payroll Required
