Asset Manager

Overview:
The Asset Manager is responsible for all aspects of tracking company assets through the life cycle process; this includes information management on our TMT system, issue resolution with field operations, creating and managing ongoing tracking reports and data bases.This position reports to the Director of Assets
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement asset utilization management programs to optimize fleet performance, including managing tractors, trailers, and yard horse assets across the organization.
- Manage and develop asset coordinators to help achieve the goals of the organization.
- Work with your team and others to ensure accurate and up-to-date information for all units entered into TMT/TMW systems, while conducting monthly reconciliation of asset inventories.
- Oversee transportation rental requirements, sourcing rentals when necessary, and coordinate the movement of idle or underutilized assets to operations in need of equipment.
- Maintain and update weekly and monthly reports on asset utilization, investigating and reporting discrepancies or abnormalities as identified.
- Conduct and facilitate the annual asset review with transportation operations and follow up on action items to ensure timely resolution.
- Track asset performance, collaborating with operations to address underperforming tractors, trailers, and yard horses monthly.
- Work with operations to understand specific asset needs and lead the creation of the annual trailer and yard horse replacement order.
- Work with original equipment manufacturers on delivering new/used assets throughout the country.
- Manage the integration and overall performance of the chassis fleet.
- Support special projects and other assignments as needed
Qualifications:
- - Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of Transportation Management and Customer Service experience
- Proficient in relationship building with external and internal customers.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail is critical to success
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
- Has sales acumen and is goal oriented
- Be a self-starter with an ability to work in an individual and team environment.
- High level of organization and self-motivation.
- Knowledge of TMT and TMW required
- Travel required up to 25%
