Entry Level Structural Engineer

ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s Watertown, MA office is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities- Assist engineers with the creation of new design plans
- Perform engineering design of highway, pedestrian, and railroad bridges and other structures
- Preparation of specifications, reports, and final bid packages
- Calculate quantities and develop construction cost estimates
- Assist in the field with bridge inspections (desirable) and load ratings
- Must possess strong technical skills
- Use engineering design and CAD software in the preparation of plan documents
- Excellent attention to detail, strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 0-1 year of engineering experience and possess a broad understanding and technical skills in bridge design
