Bruker Nano, one of Bruker’s four operating segments, provides customers in academic and governmental institutions, life science, materials, and applied industries with the tools to determine the characteristics of matter and visualize the structure of molecules.Divisions within BNANO include Bruker AXS, Bruker Nano Analytics, Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology, Fluorescence Microscopy, and Canopy.
Bruker AXS is seeking a Benchtop Repair Technician. The Benchtop Repair Technician is responsible for providing efficient and coordinated repairs of handheld instruments, bench-top systems and materials that are sent to the depot for repair. Must provide written documentation, procedures, and telephone support as required.The ideal candidate is a motivated self starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to plan and execute projects to improve level of support and to work both independently and in a team envrionment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform depot repairs of customer instruments
- Provide technical phone support to customers and field service personnel across Americas for Bruker BNA products.
- Develop repair procedures and assist in the evaluation of repairs that should be performed at the Madison depot.
- Maintain repair documentation of customer material
- Comply with internal business process and document cases as needed
- Provide input and create service bulletins and other technical documentation.
- Configure computers and peripherals as required
- Travel to customer site to provide service and/or planned maintenance.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of service training classes
- Assist in the development and updating of technical maintenance manuals
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Technical/Customer Support Manager
- Maintain spare parts inventory, applications lab equipment, and participate in service training schools.
- Travel as necessary to support field operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in repair and calibration of sophisticated electronic equipment, as well as 1+ years in analytical instrument repair and calibration.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- High level technical hardware and software skills related to X-ray instrumentation.
- Ability to use standard electronic test and measuring instruments
