Utility Technician

A Utility Technician is needed for a leading water and wastewater utility. The Utility Technician is responsible to perform essential maintenance and repair tasks for water and wastewater systems. This role involves inspecting, installing, and servicing water mains, meters, hydrants, sewer lines, and related infrastructure, as well as ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.Technicians will work under general supervision and interact directly with customers to resolve service-related concerns.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience as a Utility Technician or a related role in water/wastewater management. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, as well as a valid driver's license. Must be capable of obtaining a commercial driver's license within six months and maintain operator certifications as required.

responsibilities:
- Inspect, repair, and install water and sewer system components, including mains, hydrants, and lift stations
- Conduct visual inspections and monitor pump stations to ensure operational efficiency
- Respond promptly to service requests and accurately mark infrastructure locations for maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., dump truck, backhoe) to complete tasks safely and effectively
- Complete work orders, records, and regulatory documentation promptly and accurately
- Communicate effectively with customers, ensuring courteous and professional interactions
