We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Glen Burnie, Maryland, 21060. As a Bookkeeper, you will be expected to manage various tasks such as updating systems, and handling inventory. You will also be involved in daily accounting functions and assist in the end-of-month and end-of-year closing activities.

Experience with journal entries related to prepaid expenses, insurance, recognition of revenue, COGS, Fixed Asset schedules, depreciation, classification of inventory, and recording sales tax is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage inventory entries
  • Update and maintain accounting systems for accuracy
  • Handle and manage contractual documents
  • Assist in asset management tasks
  • Participate in end-of-month and end-of-year closing activities
  • Conduct daily accounting functions
  • Prepare and manage journal entries
  • Handle accounts receivable tasks
  • Assist in accounts payable functions when needed
  • Manage and process billing activities
  • Use Microsoft Excel to export and manipulate reports
  • Communicate with clients to resolve queries
  • Utilize QuickBooks – Desktop for various accounting tasks.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping role
  • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing
  • Demonstrated experience in Bank Reconciliations
  • Solid understanding and experience in Bookkeeping
  • Proven ability in accurate Data Entry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated experience in Month End Close procedures
  • Proficient in QuickBooks software
  • Experience with Year End Closings
  • Solid understanding and experience in Journal Entries
  • Proven ability in Account Reconciliation
  • Demonstrated experience in Billing procedures
