Clinical Nurse Educator II - Critical Care

Overview:

The Clinical Nurse Educator provides staff development expertise as an educator, and acts as a consultant, facilitator, change agent, leaders, and researcher across FirstHealth. This role supports the development of the bedside nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced based nursing practice.
This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education, and leadership development. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the Clinical Nurse Educator is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate within FirstHealth to meet the needs of the diverse units within our healthcare team.

Must be able to withstand physical activity which includes the ability to move or lift at least 50 pounds. Travel may be required to facilitate collaboration with entities across FirstHealth.

Responsibilities:

Participates in creating a culture of safety.

Demonstrates teaching and leadership skills including a working knowledge of EMR System. programs for maintenance of records, communication, and presentations.

Demonstrates strong communication skills and tools with demonstrated ability to concisely communicate with Nursing leaders, establish goals, milestones, and priorities, ensuring team members understand work assignments and in communicating project status, risks, and issues

Demonstrates effective organizational and time management skills and conflict resolution.

Conducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools.

Assists learners in the assessment of needs and identification of outcomes.

Plans, prepares, and maintains materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience.

Provides educational opportunities that benefit nurses at all stages of their career development.

Serves as an educational consultant across FirstHealth, task forces, committees, and projects relating to policy, procedure, and program development.

Incorporates current educational evidence into individual practice as a staff development expert.

Identifies and recruits internal and external resources for educational activities.

Ensures that educational programs are congruent with organizational missions, values, and goals.

Serves as a role model to promote excellence and safety.

Serves as a role model for education and professional nursing practice.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this position:

Master of Science in Nursing: Required

ACLS, PALS: Required

Three (3) to Five (5) years of specialty related nursing experience.

Two (2) years clinical teaching or education experience preferred.

Experience with Symplr Learning desired
