Function/Duties of Position:

This position is under the administration of the Director of the Institute on Development & Disability and the CDRC Discipline Director of Speech-Language Pathology. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU and the IDD, inclusive of teaching, research, and service.

The SLP in this position will function as a clinical leader in his/her areas of expertise, and be expected to contribute to program development and quality improvement.

The specific duties of this position include: Clinical Service (100%)

Direct Clinical (80%): The SLP in this position will provide Speech-Language Pathology diagnostic evaluation, treatment and consultative services for patients of the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, participating in many of CDRC’s interdisciplinary clinics.

The SLP will be responsible for evaluation, team collaboration, and family feedback. The SLP will participate in follow-up treatment of CDRC clinic patients. The incumbent will also participate in clinical education of practicum students, interns, and fellows completing training in the CDRC programs.

Indirect Clinical (20%): The SLP in this position ensures timely completion of clinical documentation and responsiveness to clinical requests. The SLP participates in other activities appropriate to the discipline, and consistent with the mission and goals of CDRC and OHSU.
Such activities include, but are not limited to, clinical documentation, consultation and technical assistance to families, community agencies and providers, serving on agency and university committees, and participation in departmental meetings and in-service presentations.

Additional activities may include engaging in research appropriate to Speech-Language Pathology, including cooperative joint research with other faculty.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in SLP.
  • Minimum of 5 years pediatric clinical experience serving children with neurodevelopmental and related disabilities who have complex communication needs, with a specific interest and focus on augmentative and alternative communication.
  • Must hold current CCC/SLP and hold or be eligible for Oregon SLP licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Eperience working on interdisciplinary teams, utilizing a family-centered model of care.
  • Bilingual.
