Position Summary:
The Tank Maintenance Coordinator / Specialist has responsibility to assist the Tank Maintenance Supervisor in the planning and execution of the overall tank turnaround work scope. This is accomplished through the proper coordination of contractors and timely management of the workforce.The Tank Maintenance Coordinator / Specialist also provides an interface between Operations and Maintenance to ensure work is planned and executed in a safe and timely manner. Reports administratively to the Tank Maintenance Supervisor. Works in partnership with the other disciplines to share accountability for the successful planning and execution of the assigned tank turnaround.
Responsibilities:
Safe, environmental incident free, timely, and cost-effective execution of tank turnarounds
Ensures all Health and Safety and Environmental orders are adhered to
Proactively identify opportunities to reduce total life cycle costs for tanks and be a champion to implement appropriate opportunities.
Responsible for assisting with preliminary budget development, with input from Contractors and client technical disciplines, for one-year and five-year plans
Develop a working knowledge of the various tank contractors and their personnel
Communicates daily direction to Operations/Maintenance basis turnaround schedule including oversight of the Contractor’s daily permit requests for Operations
Resolve work related and personnel issues as needed
Receive / understand / validate daily work progress reports from Contractor field supervisors Contractor project managers
Audits contractor tailgate safety meetings on a regular basis
Performs safety audits to ensure work is performed safely
Audits work (quality control) to ensure a quality work product
Monitors field activities to ensure schedule/direction is followed and only approved work is executed
Approves all minor scope changes and ensures they are communicated to the Planner/ Scheduler including (scope / estimates).
Work with the Planner/ Scheduler to understand impact to overall schedule completion.
Major scope changes shall be reviewed with Ops and Maintenance Supervisor for approval
Ensure all work is executed in a cost-effective manner
Qualifications:
Must be Level A or Level B permit qualified, and update permits as needed
Experienced Execution of transactions for service entries, materials, and rentals in SAP
Experienced with MOC, Scope of work, Field Tank Maintenance
Possesses a working knowledge of API 650, 653, 2015, 2016 and others as applicable.
Ability and skills to work with all individuals involved in the turnaround and can communicate effectively and precisely
Possesses a wide range of skills covering the whole spectrum of craftwork performed during a tank turnaround.
Visible leader in safety: Communicate Cardinal Rules, demonstrate compliance with all required training.
