Position Overview:

The Shop Floor Coordinator is responsible for programming all the parts necessary for the Shop Floor Technicians to perform their functions toward creating all the components for the Stripe Hog ® Waterblasting Systems (and related components).

This activity is performed by ensuring that the team members directly responsible for the creation of the components have accurate parts, and prints, to perform their tasks.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Create work orders in MAS100 (ERP Software)
  • Verifies prints from R&D to insure the dimensions, and materials, are correct and compatible
  • Communicates with R&D and completes the Engineering Change Request (ECR) when information on prints is incorrect
  • Loads parts, and assemblies, into Sigma nest with accurate label information
  • Releases work orders in Sigma nest to start the fabrication process
  • Enters information into fields for labels to insure parts follow the proper path during fabrication
  • Loads outside customer work and creates Bill of Materials (BOM) to give to Purchaser
  • Sends R&D parts to Water Jet and Production parts to laser as appropriate
  • Works closely with Fabrication Supervisor and Purchaser to start the movement of product through the fabrication process.
  • Manages work load so the Laser Operator always has a minimum of three days of work on the board (target is to have a five day backlog)
  • Communicates with Purchaser via email with PDF showing the sheet metal requirements, extruded material list, and hardware list when information is complete
  • Updates the Week Percent Complete document on last day of work week.
  • May operate a company vehicle
  • Other duties as needed to meet production requirements

Supervisory Responsibility - this position is responsible for the supervision of a team of fabricators assigned to complete specific tasks.

Work Environment - this job operates in shop environment where tools and other machinery is used.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work - this is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, this schedule may vary based on the needs of the shop and as assigned by the Fabrication and Production Manager which will change as required based on job duties demand.

Travel - this position may require travel from time to time.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications - must pass a background check and drug screen

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Sigma nest or related software.
  • Must have strong skills related to Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Must be comfortable performing work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be fluent in English, ability to speak other languages a plus.
  • Must pass drug test
