Battery Reliability Engineer - Waukesha
The Battery Reliability Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and optimize battery performance to meet the highest industry standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement, and execute reliability testing protocols for battery systems, including life-cycle and stress tests.
Monitor and assess battery performance under various environmental and operational conditions to identify and address potential failure modes.
Perform root cause analysis on battery performance issues and recommend design improvements to increase system reliability.
Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to integrate reliability and durability considerations into battery system designs.
Utilize simulation tools and data analytics to predict battery performance, degradation, and lifetime, proposing enhancements to extend battery life.
Collect and analyze performance and degradation data from testing, field usage, and laboratory research.
Develop predictive maintenance and failure prediction models to support long-term product reliability.
Lead efforts in safety testing and certification processes to meet or exceed regulatory standards for clean energy battery applications.
Recommend and implement process improvements in reliability testing, data analysis, and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (PhD preferred).
7+ years in battery reliability engineering or energy storage.
Skilled in battery testing, reliability testing, and data analysis.
Knowledge of battery chemistries (e.g., lithium-ion, solid-state) and their behavior under different conditions.
Experience with simulation tools and reliability models.
Familiar with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
