Accounting Clerk

Position Overview:
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry:
- Accurately enter financial data into the accounting system, ensuring completeness and correctness.
- Maintain organized records of financial transactions and documentation.
Accounts Payable:
- Assist with the accounts payable process, including invoice verification and payment processing.
- Support the timely and accurate resolution of vendor inquiries.
Accounts Receivable:
- Help with invoicing, collections, and cash application.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and assist in follow-up on overdue accounts.
General Administrative Support:
- Provide support to the accounting team with various tasks, including filing, scanning, and document management.
- Assist with preparing financial reports and schedules as needed.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Assist with month-end closing activities as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in accounting or related field is a plus.
Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in accounting or administrative roles preferred, but entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Work Environment:
This position will work in a fast-paced office environment, requiring collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate financial operations.
