Position Overview:

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry:

  • Accurately enter financial data into the accounting system, ensuring completeness and correctness.
  • Maintain organized records of financial transactions and documentation.

Accounts Payable:

  • Assist with the accounts payable process, including invoice verification and payment processing.
  • Support the timely and accurate resolution of vendor inquiries.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Help with invoicing, collections, and cash application.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and assist in follow-up on overdue accounts.

General Administrative Support:

  • Provide support to the accounting team with various tasks, including filing, scanning, and document management.
  • Assist with preparing financial reports and schedules as needed.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in accounting or related field is a plus.

Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in accounting or administrative roles preferred, but entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Work Environment:

This position will work in a fast-paced office environment, requiring collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate financial operations.
