Job Overview & Responsibilities:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and pursuing business opportunities in cloud technologies within the federal government sector. They develop key relationships, strategies, and plans to expand the business, act as a liaison with government agencies, and ensure the implementation of the company's business development strategy.

This is a remote position located in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze markets to find federal government opportunities.
  • Build strong partnerships with other companies, both prime and subcontractors.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in federal agencies.
  • Identify and pursue new government business opportunities, including contracts, RFPs, and RFIs.
  • Lead the development of high-quality proposals in response to government solicitations.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with partners, prime contractors, and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support successful delivery of cloud solutions.
  • Stay current on relevant government regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities and performance metrics.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of cloud solutions and adjacent technologies.

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or sales, specializing in cloud technologies and the federal government.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth within the federal government sector.
  • Experience with Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, or Department of Health and Human Services is preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSAs):

  • Expertise in capture pipeline growth.
  • Deep understanding of federal procurement processes and relevant regulations.
  • Strong knowledge in cloud computing solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage stakeholders.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Expertise in developing and negotiating government contracts and agreements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with high initiative and self-motivation.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure) are a plus.
