Position Overview:

Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) is searching for a collaborative, consultative, and detail-oriented professional to serve as head of its Human Resources (HR) team. This individual will be responsible for executing and continuously improving an HR strategy that drives overall talent attraction and retention, making it a critical position to advance DMI’s mission and work on behalf of America’s dairy farmers.

The individual leads all people, culture, and HR processes and programs at DMI and its client companies. Additionally, they will be responsible for convening CEOs and HR professionals across a system of affiliated companies in the dairy industry to drive unity and engagement.

This role reports directly to the CFO and manages four direct reports.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide oversight of HR efforts across the organization in areas including:

o Compensation and benefits

o Training and talent development

o Performance management

o Recruiting

o Onboarding and orientation

o Offboarding

o Employment policies
  • Directly lead all HR department efforts in:

o Strategic HR planning

o Employee relations and coaching conversations

o Employee performance and career counseling

o Workforce planning and development, including requisition request management and promotion cycles

o Succession planning

o Employee engagement and culture, including facilitation of full staff meetings and oversight of employee networks/groups

o HR program budget management
  • System-wide HR counsel and support to client companies and affiliated organizations, including State & Regional CEO onboarding
  • Support and enhance other people- and organizational capacity-related programs and initiatives as appropriate

Requirements

Required skills/abilities:

  • Consultative style and business partner orientation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of a multi-stakeholder organization and its employees
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications we’re seeking:

  • At least ten years of progressive human resources experience required; employee relations and/or HR generalist or business partner experience preferred
  • Proven record of successful team management with at least 3 years of leading an HR team
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • Additional related certifications (e.g., CPP, CBP, CEBS, SHRM, SPHR) a plus

Additional Information:

New Hire Salary Range:

$180,000-$205,000 annually. This posting contains a salary range that DMI believes, at the time of this posting, that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. We anticipate hiring for this position near the middle of the range.

It is uncommon, except for situations where an external candidate possesses experience, credentials and/or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, that DMI would consider paying a salary near the higher end of the range.
