Overview:
Medical Assistant Program Director
The Program Director manages faculty and other academic staff and ensures effective leadership of his or her department and students. In addition, the Program Director is responsible for all applicable accreditation commission standards or agency regulations as well as all programmatic outcomes.The Program Director is also required to implement, monitor, and uphold all applicable policies and procedures to ensure effective functioning of the department. Responsibilities:
Principal Accountabilities & Deliverables- Set the example and be the role model for professionalism and conduct for program staff and students
- Ensure academic quality of the instruction provided to the students
- Participate in student, campus, and community activities as required
- Actively participate in the local professional community to raise awareness of Concorde, enhance student opportunity, and build the professional network
- Responsible for recruiting, training, orienting, and supervising faculty members for the department
- Ensure faculty are providing active and engaging learning experiences to students within a respectful environment that is conducive to learning, and focused on student satisfaction and positive results
- Participate in and document ongoing faculty and professional development activities including any Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that may be required for certification or licensure where required by law. This also includes ensuring these activities are occurring and documented for faculty
- Adhere to Concorde policies and accreditor standards
- Ensure the safety of the department meets legal and regulatory guidelines and standards of the program
- Conduct and document regular department staff/faculty meetings
- Ensure faculty files are maintained and complete as per the Academic Dean’s requirements
- Assist with ongoing review and development of program curriculum
- Ensure that all appropriate surveys are conducted timely and reviewed effectively
- Provide regular performance feedback, including formal classroom observations, to all faculty as appropriate and be open to coaching from Academic Dean
- Advise, coach and mentor students as appropriate and necessary
- Provide support and supervision to ensure programmatic and institutional completion, licensure and placement outcomes are met
- Ensure compliance with all requirements of programmatic and institutional accreditors including advisory committee meetings, scheduled and unannounced visits, annual reports, self-studies, and response
- Review and ensure accurate and timely course, student, and faculty scheduling
- Assist with and attend graduation as requested
- Teach classes as and when necessary and as permitted by any programmatic accreditor
- Assist with student orientations
- Participate in the budgeting process and supervise procurement to ensure that program needs are met
- Review and assist with implementation of the Satisfactory Academic Progress process, including grade audits and timely completion of student advising

- Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics.

- STATE SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS - Oregon
- Must be Registered or Certified Medical Assistant (NCCA or ANSI approved credentials)
- Associates Degree or higher required
- Must demonstrate instruction in educational theory and techniques
- A minimum of 3 year's clinical experience in a healthcare facility including a minimum of 160 hours in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures as performed by Medical Assistants.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching in a post-secondary and/or vocational/technical education.

- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 year's clinical experience as a Medical Assistant
- STATE SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS - COLORADO
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Must have 3 years experience as a Medical Assistant
- Must have a 1 year of successful teaching experience in a Medical Assistant program
- STATE SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS - MISSOURI
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Educational experience must be in excess of level of instruction on which they are instructing.
- Associates degree preferred, exception can be made if a combination of education and experiential qualifications exceed the level of instruction. Greater weight may be given to experiential qualifications

- Must be knowledgeable in the course content
- Must be effective directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in phlebotomy, immunizations, venipuncture, injections, pharmacology, EKG, wound care, GYN procedures and vital signs
- Proficiency in dosage calculations preferred
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Current knowledge of specific subject being taught
- Documentation, computer skills, administrative competency, EHR/EMR (electronic health record, electronic medical records) and practice management preferred.
