Introduction
-Provide necessary mechanical engineering support during transition of new products to production.-Support mature products already in production that need design engineering support for improvement or optimization of mechanical components.
Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Mechanical Engineer position.
This position is a direct hire opportunity which is expected to be on- site in Orlando, FL.
Supports project teams in a fast-paced team environment to deliver new products to customers on time, meeting or exceeding all requirements and resulting in profitable products when transitioned to production.
Responsibilities:- Apply principles of mechanical engineering and utilize Finite Element Modeling and simulation software to mechanically optimize new military and aerospace products.
- Develop and document mechanical design best practices for new and existing product families.
- Review, optimize, and approve all new mechanical drawings.
- Estimate costs of mechanical components utilized in new products, including material and labor of internally machined or fabricated housings/covers in support of quotes for new products.
- Interface with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and optimize new and existing mechanical processes required to support new products.
- Provide technical support to production and purchasing departments to ensure mechanical components for prototypes are procured and delivered on time.

- Educate, train, mentor and coach other design engineers, drafters and technicians that have less experience or knowledge in the mechanical engineering field.
