The Water Resources Sector Director provides strategic leadership and expertise, driving market growth, profitability, and sector development across the firm. This role involves overseeing team coordination, staffing, training initiatives, and contract management while ensuring quality control and fostering career development for leaders within the sector.

The Sector Director is responsible for shaping the sector’s vision, executing strategic goals, and driving performance improvements. This is a full-time, exempt position paid on a salary basis.

Parkhill is one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the Southwest. We have 13 offices located throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all the work of Group Leads
  • Oversees and coordinates staffing levels across the Sector
  • Conducts Interviews for open positions within the Sector
  • Reviews and approves all Parkhill Standard Contracts
  • Reviews contracts, scopes, and schedules with Clients or ensures that the task is executed
  • Provides oversight and leadership to the development of standards and design tools
  • Square 1 (QA/QC)
  • Implements training
  • Communicates Lessons Learned and their application
  • Negotiates Risk Management Issues in consultation with the President and Operations Director
  • Develops Sector expertise through identifying training needs and coordinating training initiatives
  • Coordinates and encourages the effective use of Career Development and performance reviews across the Sector
  • Conducts career development and performance reviews of Group Leads

Qualifications:

  • Professional engineer registration in either Texas, New Mexico or Oklahoma with the ability to become licensed in all three states is required. Current professional engineer registration in all three states is preferred.
  • NCEES current for reciprocal PEs
  • At least 15 years of experience
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients, subconsultants, public, and co-workers at all levels
  • Ability to organize teams, communicate well and delegate tasks for the betterment of the sector; takes pride in and ownership of sectors’ work
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a marketing team to develop winning proposals and respond to RFQs
  • Experience at preparing and presenting to potential clients in response to RFPs
  • Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads to achieve Parkhill`s ambitious growth targets
  • Exhibits a keen interest in a high standard of quality and accuracy
  • Inspirational team builder and leader accustomed to managing and mentoring groups across multiple geographic locations
  • Strong work-ethic with a servant-leadership mentality
  • Possesses the ability to understand the client’s business model at a very high level and serve as a Trusted Advisor for developing business solutions and resolving technical issues that arise
