Description:

8am - 4:30am/ Full Time/ 40 Hours

Salary range -$16.25-$30.02

We're seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for Emory Midtown Hospital, responsible for being a capable certified technician who cares about the quality of their work an ensuring the safety and care for all patients.

This individual will:

  • The SPD Quality Assurance Coordinator will ensure the delivery of high-quality services based on AAMI standards and best practice guidelines so that customer service and satisfaction are realized by those served.
  • Supports the mission and values of Emory Healthcare. This role encompasses that of an educator, coach, facilitator, project manager, and quality specialist. Supports the Enterprise Director Sterile Processing, Mgr. SPD Training and Education, or OU Sterile Processing Manager in providing support and coordination for the systems or operating unit quality and training processes.
  • Responsible for communicating and applying quality assurance measures for the Sterile Processing department.
  • Collects and analyzes statistical data as it pertains to sterile procedures and assists in corrective action based on analysis. Evaluates current and new regulatory criteria for compliance as it applies to industry standards.
  • Utilizes a systems approach by mapping key processes and implementing value stream analysis to reduce waste, inefficiencies and downtime.
  • Evaluates current and new regulatory criteria for compliance as it applies to industry standards. Utilizes evidence-based practice and data to guide improvement efforts. Builds strong cross-functional relationships to ensure that all stakeholders are appropriately engaged.   • Responsible for supporting new employee orientation or SPD Trainees in the Sterile Processing Cohort Program, including on-the-job training and documentation of employee competency in sterile processing standards. With the assistance of the SPD Educators, identifies any sterile processing employees who may need additional training and arranges work schedules to include this training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Three years of experience in healthcare leadership, sterile processing, process improvement, or lean manufacturing.
  • Certification as Central Service Technician preferred. (certification required within six months of employment). Certification in Lean Six Sigma Preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer software to include Microsoft Office, EPIC, instrument tracking software.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate assignments.
