Inventory Accountant

You will also collaborate with different departments to optimize material flows and minimize inefficiencies, maintaining our commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with plant personnel for conducting cycle counts, quarter-end counts, and year-end inventory while adhering to group policies.
• Record and address issues identified during inventory counts, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Conduct a thorough root cause analysis for recurring and one-off inventory discrepancies and propose suitable solutions.
• Evaluate and ensure the consistency of material master data across all areas of the plant.
• Collaborate with plant personnel for maintaining an efficient and functional warehouse layout.
• Accurately record all inventory adjustments in the ERP system.
• Support the Plant Controller in assessing slow-moving and off-spec materials for inventory provisions.
• Assist the Plant Controller in preparing and posting accounting journal entries related to the Baltimore site.
• Identify and implement strategies to enhance inventory controls onsite.
• Collaborate with other departments, including Shipping and Receiving, to optimize material flows across the site and minimize inefficiencies.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as an Inventory Analyst or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Auditing, particularly in relation to inventory.
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Deep understanding of Inventory Cycles and their management.
• Demonstrated skills in Inventory Analysis and Audits.
• Solid knowledge of Inventory Accounting principles and procedures.
• Ability to generate detailed and accurate Inventory Reports.
• Experience with Year End Closings and Journal Entries.
• Familiarity with AS400 system for inventory management.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
