WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this hands-on role, you & your team will logically and technically define the architecture paradigm and roadmap globally at AVI-SPL for all custom development. You will work cross functionally across product and service domains, working tactically with Product Owners, business SMEs, & Technical Delivery teams at AVI-SPL to elevate the effectiveness of professional custom code solutions that we gain insight, act, and automate business with.

In this role, you will function as a “Player / Coach”, being hands on with the technology and the development of solutions, and you will also lead a team of developers on all custom code solutions. Additionally, you will champion the advancement of the Microsoft ecosystem for development at AVI-SPL, establishing governance while empowering a thriving, solution driven culture through providing custom software solutions in a manner that aligns with our enterprise composable architecture.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

• Contribute to a high-performance team culture that is purposeful, fun, and rewarding.
• Build strong relationships with and between your team and Product Owners, business SMEs, and Technical Delivery teams. Learn what makes them successful and effective and

• Develop a strategic roadmap for the Custom Code solutions that fits and aligns with our enterprise architecture and complements our software and data engineering roadmap.
• Evaluate legacy custom solutions and determine suitability for more modern framework solutions. Incorporate the modernization of these existing solutions (SmartSheet, Claris and Others) into the roadmap for security, expansion and growth.
• Support the Director of Software Engineering in making proper design and build decisions, providing insight into the proper use case and development approach for all custom code solutions
• Serve as the and work with the lead architect, making strategic design decisions that support and align to our Enterprise Architecture goals.
• Provide custom code architecture review of requirements, ensure use case and alignment prior to build.
• Provide directions to other custom code developers, defining technical approach for how solutions should be built on the Power Platform.
• Align team member efforts, ensuring consistency of work products, as well as logical and technical coherence of solutions across different projects.
• Partner with Software Engineering on hybrid solutions that incorporate both Power Platform components and custom Software Engineering components.
• Partner with Data Engineering on data requirements and the development of the Dataverse in support of custom and Power Platform solutions.
• Work with the Continuous Delivery organization to position your team to execute on the right priorities and cadence of work. Provide accurate Level of Effort and sizing projections for custom development.
• Proficiently develop solutions on all components of our custom software frameworks
• .Net and .Net Core
• Blazor and JavaScript frontend frameworks
• MS SQL Server
• Azure Cloud Hosting
• Dev Ops Including CI/CD
• Azure extensibility framework (LogicApps, Azure Functions, etc…)
• Ensure the development of custom solutions are 100% delivered through Azure DevOps and modern CI/CD principles.
• Bring a passion to stay on top of the evolution of Microsoft’s Ecosystem and associated technologies (Azure, M365, etc…). Experiment with and learn new processes

• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outsideof-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
• Be deliberate and laser focused about improving the velocity and quality of how the Power Platform team delivers.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Deep architectural understanding of the Power Platform & Dataverse
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building & delivering solutions within an Agile framework,

• 5+ years of hands-on experience directly building and delivering custom code solutions
• Direct hands-on experience with emerging .net Framework components – Blazor etc.
• 5+ years’ experience with MS SQL and Azure SQL
• 3+ years of hands-on experience delivering custom code solutions through Azure DevOps
• 5+ years’ experience with open, REST APIs
• 5+ years’ experience of building solutions with SQL repositories
