Job Title: EEG Technician (Contract)
Location: New York, NY 10029
Schedule:
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- 10-hour shifts, Monday – Friday (10:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an EEG Technician to perform high-quality electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings and procedures. The technician will work independently or under supervision to assess neurological activity, summarize patient history, and ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform EEG recordings, including awake, asleep, bedside, and video EEG monitoring.
- Review patient charts for medical history, including anticonvulsive medication use.
- Explain EEG procedures in detail to patients and family members.
- Adapt methods and equipment to ensure patient comfort and optimal test results.
- Clean and prepare the patient’s scalp before and after the procedure.
- Document all clinical observations during seizures and emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate patient records, technician reports, and diagnostic logs.
- Ensure patient electrical safety and perform basic equipment maintenance.
- Keep the EEG room clean and organized, ensuring proper handling of supplies.
- Participate in technical meetings, training sessions, and educational activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year as an EEG Technician.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree in a related field.
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to adapt techniques for optimal patient results.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
