Job Description: As an IT Implementation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in coordinating voice and data services across various projects, including new locations, relocations, renovations, and acquisitions. You will be responsible for managing the provisioning of essential services such as fax and alarm systems, ethernet, broadband, and dedicated internet access.
Additionally, you will handle the procurement of critical hardware, including networking equipment, paging systems, and wireless devices. Your ability to collaborate with third-party vendors and internal teams will ensure the seamless installation of services and infrastructure.

You will also be tasked with responding to voice and data service requests from our branches, providing exceptional support to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineer and implement technologies, including Wireless, VOIP, Data Routing/Switching, Call Routing Technologies, Infrastructure, and Cabling Services.
  • Manage 30-35+ projects of varying sizes and types, handling budgets up to $1 million.
  • Assess and determine voice and data needs using drawings and work request documentation.
  • Consult with branch resources to define needs and requirements in accordance with established standards.
  • Utilize markup tool software to depict voice and data needs on drawings for vendor cabling infrastructure requirements.
  • Order and facilitate the installation of POTS lines for alarm services where applicable.
  • Analyze locations for new or existing voice/data services and place orders via vendor portals or processes.
  • Determine hardware requirements, such as switches, routers, UPS, and access points, needed for various projects.
  • Collaborate with vendors to establish project requirements based on scope of work and bill of materials.
  • Coordinate the installation of required hardware by third-party vendors.
  • Work closely with networking engineers to define hardware and wireless requirements.
  • Provide essential information to third-party wireless designers to design wireless layouts when applicable.
  • Request and provide IP addresses, bind data, and circuit information to activate network services.
  • Approve quotes, request purchase orders, and approve invoices for work based on current standards.
  • Ensure the completion of standardized tasks to coordinate, implement, install, and test all technical aspects of the enterprise voice and data network and infrastructure.
  • Communicate conduit, data, and fiber requirements to contractors and infrastructure vendors.
  • Test installations, identify any shortcomings, and follow up on issues to resolution.
  • Ensure that infrastructure cabling, wiring closets (MDF/IDF), and hardware installations meet standards and are certified to local and national specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of work-order activities in enterprise tools, including ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Project.
  • Validate completed work by cabling vendors to ensure the scope is complete.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, project management, support, and security teams, and manage third-party contractor activities to ensure location connectivity.
  • Participate in team meetings and communicate any concerns to management.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of experience in IT implementation engineering.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various groups.
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • 1-5 years of experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, etc.).
  • Knowledge of project/task management systems (e.g., ServiceNow, SharePoint, Project) preferred.
  • Ability to interpret site surveys and drawings to identify project requirements.
  • Familiarity with basic networking hardware necessary for building networks.
  • Experience coordinating voice, data, and wireless technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively with third-party vendors and carriers, such as AT& T, Verizon, etc.
  • Proactive approach with minimal to no supervision.
