Staff Accountant

We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the engineering industry, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a Staff Accountant, you will be handling a variety of accounting tasks, adhering to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and offering technical financial advice to operational leaders.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a wide range of accounting functions
• Prepare journal entries and oversee general ledger accruals
• Facilitate period-end and month-end close processes
• Contribute to financial reporting, analysis, and projections
• Support audits and review process and internal control improvements
• Provide financial support and training to various team members
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
• Address discrepancies with senior management.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the detail-oriented services industry is required.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential.
• Demonstrable experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger management is necessary.
• Experience in recording and managing Journal Entries.
• Capable of handling Month End Close activities.
• Proficiency in Fixed Asset Accounting is required.
• Must have experience in managing Prepaids.
