Title: Research Assistant
Summary: The Research Assistant is responsible for the identification and screening of potential research participants, review of medical record data and serving as a knowledgeable resource on protocol eligibility criteria. The Research assistant will support the Clinical Research Data Coordinators and sub-investigators in screening and recruiting patients during off business hours.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions- Responsible for working collaboratively with clinical research coordinators, regulatory coordinators, physicians, nurse clinicians,
- Prepare and provide patient status reports to leadership as requested.
- Safely handles laboratory specimens in accordance with Orlando Health policy and procedures.
- Complete accurate and timely Case Report Forms.
- Prepares new study patient charts.
- Maintains a registry of study patients screened.
- Assists with enrollment preparation for the investigators.
- Understands the protocol and project management concepts in order to aid delivery across program.
- Able to influence and communicate across functions and external stakeholders.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Attends appropriate departmental, corporate and continuing education meetings as required.
- Assumes the responsibility for professional growth and development.
- Transmits data to sponsoring and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
Education/Training.- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare related or clinical research setting preferred.
- Orlando Health phlebotomy course within 30 days of hire is required within certain areas.
- Min one (1) year clinical assistant experience
