Accounting Clerk

Robert Half is hiring for an accounting clerk in the Middlesex County, NJ area. This role involves managing various accounting tasks, including processing payments, maintaining records, and managing both accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently handling a high volume of credit card payments
• Conducting general accounts receivable duties, including invoicing, posting payments to customer accounts, and monitoring aging accounts
• Managing accounts payable, including handling incoming and outgoing cash on a daily basis
• Performing check entry and organizing check runs, followed by distributing checks to respective parties
• Administering cash receipts for wholesale operations, particularly during busy periods
• Processing sales orders for residential sales, documenting contracts, and depositing money before processing the final bill
• Ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions and maintaining detailed customer credit records
• Utilizing software such as Sage and Microsoft Excel for various tasks
• Reconciling accounts and following up with customers on unpaid invoices
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in Billing and Invoice Processing
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the accounting field.
